Found a Cooperation Circle

Co-operation Circles make URI's vision for peace, justice and healing real:

Co-operation Circles (CCs) bring people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions together, in order "to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings".

Become a URI leader and found an interfaith Co-operation Circle:

1.) Gather a minimum of 7 people
2.) of at least 3 religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions
3.) and engage their support for the URI Charter and its universal vision and values.

CCs can organize in any manner, at any scale, in any area and around any issue or activity which is relevant to and consistent with the Preamble, Purpose and Principles.

Possible activities for new Co-operation Circles:

Just to give you ideas on what a new CC can do, among countless others:

  • You can discover and visit the religious sites in your town.
  • You can document the religious places in your city.
  • You can watch films in an interfaith group.
  • You can have meals together.
  • You can organize activities and events around human rights issues.
  • You can research faiths and secular traditions, e.g.: "What does each tradition say about the protection of the environment?"

Download the brochure "Creating Co-operation Circles", which helps you to get started.

It contains ideas and suggestions on how to start a CC.

In all activities you can welcome secular/non-religious people, too.

By the way: The word "Co-operation Circle" is abbreviated as CC (speak ßi:ßi:).
